Overview

This is the only cooking class in Portugal where you get to learn about pastry making inside a real award-winning Portuguese bakery - just 30 mins from Lisbon!

The class starts with an introduction to the history of Pastel de Nata as well as the family-run bakery where this workshop takes place.

After you've geared up, you'll go inside the kitchen of João's very own "pastelaria". This is where you will learn how to bake the irresistible Portuguese Custard Tarts everybody loves!

We will show you how to make puff pastry like the pros. Afterwards, we will make the custard from scratch and bake it all inside a professional oven. During this class we all work together as a team. Everyone will get to make at least 3 tarts by hand - spread the dough with a specific Pastel de Nata technique, fill in the custard, etc.

In the end, we'll eat the warm tarts with a cup of coffee.
